You will find references that introduce some hymns that are unknown to you, and bear visiting and playing through.

Good Friday has the grand hymn, THERE IS A GREEN HILL FAR AWAY on page 268.

If this hymn is unfamiliar it and others unknown to the congregation should be played on the organ before Lent to get the tune in their ears.

Each hymn in our series has a choral prelude available that is playable and mostly scored for manuals only.

Note that hymns may be sung beautifully by small ensembles.
